Tea Moment: A Drink to Remember
Myriads of things linger in my mind every time I see someone drinking a cup of tea. Lessons that I have encountered in life crawl my imagination when I ponder while sipping in contemplative manner this kind of aromatic beverage. It reminds me of a genial History teacher who told us that tea plays a significant role in history. Much of my being a nationalistic citizen I attributed with this teacher. She taught us how to appreciate the past without forgetting the challenge of the future. In one of her lessons, she related that thousands of years ago, tea was already being used by the Chinese, Tibetans, Vietnamese and other groups of people in East Asia and Southeast Asia as a form of beverage to relax their trouble mind and body. It has been said that the calm temperament of Asian people is attributed to the practice of drinking tea which accordingly has soothing and relaxing effects to the body. Tea drinking transcends the commonplace. Well-settled is the fact that in Japan and China, a tea ceremony is a usual cultural ritual. A tea party is normally associated to a very important social event. Reminiscing this lesson makes me feel nostalgic of my high school days with my history teacher.
Drinking tea also has personal significance to me. Another thought that comes to mind when I drink tea is my soul mate, who is now my spouse. How we came to know each other is like a scene that only happens in a movie. I was walking one winter morning in the park, when I pass by a lady, silent and confused. Momentarily, I wanted to ignore her when suddenly my instinct tells me to sit beside her and initiate a short conversation. I did and she said but little. I convinced her to join me for a walk and until we dropped by a coffee shop. I asked for two cups of breakfast tea. We looked at each other for a while. I don’t know but the few seconds she looked at my eyes are magical, the moment is full of splendid feelings I have never experienced before. I knew that both of us felt good after drinking our tea. We left the place only to meet again after seven years in the same scenario. Inasmuch as both of us were still single, I courted her for a few months and eventually married her.
Such a tea moment I will never forget. Thanks for the variety of experiences I had in life, just like the different types of tea available at www.englishteastore.com. Varieties such as Blackcurrant, Chai, Chamomile and others are available at this store. If you prefer loose leaf tea, the site also has it at very reasonable price.
